ALTYN-ARASHAN

  The beautiful and picturesque mountain gorge around 40 km east from Karakol, with very spectacular road suitable only for four-wheel drive trucks. Set at 3000 metres above sea level and known for its curative hot springs this valley is quite popular place amongst trekkers, mountaineerers and day walkers. There are also several concrete water pools with the water of different temperature and chemical structure they say making the man healthy, wealthy and wise.
4-5 hours walk up the valley will bring you at the foothills of Palatka peak (Tent peak) of 4803 m. There is also a very nice waterfall on the way.

 Also very close located the mountainous and crystal pure lake Ala-Kol set at 3832 metres above sea level. The lake is 2.3 km long and 700-800 metres wide. Surrounded bu glaciers and high peaks it won't let you take your look away.
