expresses not only the city block. Mahallya is an outstanding notion generalizing
many aspects. First of all it is the world of intimated to you people, who live
just near you, who are always ready to help and support you in some difficult
period of life. Mahallya is the friends, relationship with whom obtained in
early childhood and never cease... It is the public opinion which can support
and protect the person and his name, but it also can punish if somebody did
unseemly act.
Mahallya - is the bridge between civilizations
and epochs, connected patriarchal peculiarities of rural life, when all inhabitants
of village know each other, with realities of modern city. It is a kind of democracy
with some despotic features created in oriental society.
There is an astonishing uzbek custom called Hashar
- voluntary public mutual aid in any works, then everybody comes to help, some
times it take them a few days to built a house.
Life in Mahallya is always on the view, it insist
the people to keep moral cleanliness, to check every step with its conscience,
moral sense, because unseemly act, did in conditions when everybody knows each
other, will be known to public and will get the suitable grade.
In general Mahallya is the traditional form of public
relations in Uzbekistan. It is a neighbourhood community which dates back to
many thousand years of history. Being the centre of family and religious holidays
and ceremonies here carefully keep and reproduce from generation to generation
the rituals of this holidays.
