KYRGYZSTAN RANGE

This page is specially created for those who waste their time by looking for "kyrgyzstan range" on the internet. I just want you to realize that Kyrgyzstan range does not exist! I don't know where people hear this term but it is probably a mistake of some media. If you are looking for some range of Kyrgyzstan than your search phrase should be "range of Kyrgyzstan". But please read this page to the end. The answer may be here...

I want you to find the right information and therefore I'm giving here some explanations:

  • Mountains that cover most part of Kyrgyzstan are called Tien-Shan mountains. Kyrgyzstan also has another mountain system called Pamir-Alai that contains only 2 mountain ranges. And one mountain range that separates Kyrgyzstan from Tajikistan belongs to Pamir mountains. From different sources you can find that Pamir-Alai is a whole separate mountain system or it's a part of Pamir. Information about Tien-Shan and Pamir mountain systems and their different parts can be found here: http://www.fantasticasia.net/?p=6
  • If you are looking for that mountain range with high snowy peaks that raises right outside Bishkek (capital of Kyrgyzstan) then you should be looking for Kyrgyz mountain range or Kirgizskiy range (ridge). Keep in mind that it also belongs to Tien-Shan mountain system. Old name of Kyrgiz range is "Aleksandrovskiy Khrebet".
  • If you are looking for a four-letter crossword clue than it should be "Alai". Alai mountain range is located in the south of Kyrgyzstan. There are few theories saying that it's a part of Tien-Shan, part of Pamir or a whole separate mountain system.
  • In case you are looking for a way to spend vacation exploring beautiful mountains of Kyrgyzstan take a look at our trekking offers or e-mail our office at info@fantasticasia.net and our friendly staff will help you to design a tour that will meet your special wishes.

I hope you found my comments helpful.
